Trip To Hershey Ends In Tragedy For Long Islander

DEER PARK, NY (WCBS 880/1010 WINS) - "Made it to Philly!! Love you."

That is the last message Michael Green received from his daughter Tuesday afternoon two hours before she was killed in a horrifying crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Kristin Green, 20, of Deer Park, was on a trip to Hersheypark with three friends from the Apple Store in Huntington where she worked. The group had been planning to take the trip for a month.

"She was so excited, they met for dinners to plan out who was driving and what they were going to do do," Kristin's mother, Joanne said.

On their way to the amusement park, police said the driver, 20-year-old Robert Felberbaum, had fallen asleep at the wheel, crashing the car into a tree. The vehicle was so badly damaged that rescue workers had to remove the roof of the car to free the victims.

A hospital spokepserson says the survivors of the crash are in fair to good condition.

Police said no drugs or alcohol were involved.

"I do feel compassion because animosity is not going to bring Kristin back," the victim's father, Michael, said. Michael Green believes Felberbaum was tired because the group had left for the trip early in the morning.

"Our hearts and well wishes go out to the families of the other three," Michael said through tears.
