NEW YORK (CBS 2) — Police were hoping surveillance video will help them catch a woman who committed a sin, as well as grand larceny, inside a Manhattan church.

The tape was recorded on Aug. 16 inside the Immaculate Conception Church on 14th Street in the East Village.

The suspect was shown walking into the church, then walking up to a pew and grabbing a large, unattended bag off the seat before walking out.

The suspect was wearing a blue tee shirt, grey tights and carrying a green purse.
