Gunman In Fatal NYC Shooting On The Loose

NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Police were still searching Sunday for the person who shot and killed a bread delivery driver in Brooklyn.

Investigators said someone firing shots from the roof of a building in Gravesend Friday night sent two bullets tearing through the roof of Jorge Martinez's white Ford van as he was driving along Avenue X.

One bullet hit Martinez in the head, killing him instantly.

"What happened was terrible. Really really terrible. Because he was a nice guy, very hard working guy and he always think about his children," one neighbor said.

It wasn't clear if Martinez was the intended target or if the bullets were stray shots meant for someone or something else.

Martinez's body will be returned to his native Ecuador for burial.
