Man Shot While Standing With Tot On Long Island

ROOSEVELT, N.Y. (AP) -- Police said a bullet fired on a Long Island street narrowly missed a 2-year-old boy. A man standing with him was shot in the leg.

Nassau County police were looking for the gunman Monday.

Police said he was wearing a face mask during the shooting Sunday evening around Washington Avenue and Willet Place in Roosevelt. It's unclear how many shots were fired.

Police said the gunman ran off through back yards off Willet Place after the shooting.

The wounded man is hospitalized. The toddler wasn't hurt.
