NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- New York City police are investigating the shooting death of a 21-year-old woman in Queens that occurred early Monday morning.

French was taken to Franklin General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

French was walking on 202nd Street with two men following a house party when a Mercedes approached and shots rang out striking the woman, 1010 WINS' Juliet Papa reported.

Police said they believed the incident stemmed from a dispute at the party in the neighborhood.

One resident said she couldn't imagine the pain caused to the victim's parents.

"Can you imagine getting a phone call about your child," she told Papa.

Another resident said he believed alcohol may have played a role in things getting out of hand.

"There's a whole lot of gun violence going on in Queens, especially like at these...house parties," he said.

No arrests have been made in the case.
