Lawmakers Hold Hearings On N.J. Budget Cuts

TRENTON, N.J. (CBS 2) -- Seven New Jersey Assembly panels were scheduled to begin holding hearings Monday on the recently-enacted state budget.

Democrats said they needed to examine how Governor Christie's spending cuts were affecting the state.

Republicans pointed out the budget bills were passed with bipartisan support and called the hearings nothing but political theatre.
