White Plains Mayor And Wife File For Divorce

WHITE PLAINS, NY (WCBS 880 / CBS 2 / AP) - The mayor of White Plains has filed for divorce a month before he is scheduled to go on trial in a domestic violence case.

LISTEN: WCBS 880's Catherine Cioffi reports

The mayor said in a statement Wednesday that he had decided to divorce from his wife ``after exhausting every other recourse.''

WCBS 880 reporter Catherine Cioffi says that his wife has also filed for divorce.

Adam Bradley requested privacy, but the divorce is likely to come up in his criminal case.

Bradley is accused of throwing hot tea at wife Fumiko Bradley and slamming a door on her hand. He is also charged with harassment and witness tampering. The 48-year-old mayor has pleaded not guilty and resisted calls to resign.

He was arrested in February, two months into his term.

A call to Fumiko Bradley's lawyer, Neil Comer, was not immediately returned.
