Accused L.I. Con Woman Due In Court
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- A Long Island woman accused of conning East End merchants of hundreds of thousands of dollars went before a judge Friday for a bail hearing.
Suffolk County investigators say Nydia Vega attended dozens of Hamptons charity events, dined at the finest restaurants and shopped in exclusive boutiques while posing as a wealthy widow.
She's accused of using more than a dozen aliases to write bad checks.
The judge kept bail for Vega at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond. Her next court appearance is set for Oct. 19.
