S.I. Man Dead In Possible Tenant-Landlord Dispute

NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- A property owner is being questioned by police after a tragic shooting death on Staten Island.

23-year-old Carlos Rivera, whose mother lives in the building, was found shot once in the chest.

The shooting is a violent ending to what appeared to have been a landlord-tenant dispute with the victim's mother.

Police were called to the townhouse on Little Clove Road in Sunnyside around 8 a.m. Friday morning.

Neighbors described what they saw and heard.

"Just the shots, like three shots...and the lady screaming," one neighbor said.

"I heard the shots, it was like like pop, pop, pop," witness Ken Formica said.
