NEW YORK (CBS New York) — A tornado watch issued earlier for the Tri-State area has expired.
The watch, issued by the National Weather Service, had included Nassau County, northern New Jersey and the Hudson Valley and New York City.
AccuWeather said a shower or two was to be expected in the area Tuesday evening with mostly cloudy condition for the rest of the night.
On Sept. 16, two destructive tornadoes and a fierce macroburst barreled across a large swath of Brooklyn and Queens. A woman inside a car was killed. It was the city’s ninth and 10th tornadoes since 1950.
