NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - A bill that would require paid sick leave be provided for anyone who works in New York City is set to be vetoed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The mayor called the bill, "a terrible terrible idea and would be disastrous for New York City."
He pointed out city businesses accounted for 10 percent of all private sector jobs created this year.
"If you want to lose those jobs and lots of others, you start letting the government run small businesses," said Bloomberg in Brooklyn on Thursday.
The bill would require large businesses to provide employees 9 paid sick days a year and small businesses would be required to provide 5 days.
Advocates say it's a basic worker right that increases productivity.
