New Yorker Saved From Bullet By Cell Phone

NEW YORK (AP) - A New Yorker says a cell phone clipped to his belt deflected a bullet and saved his life.

Juan Camarena told police that the shot was fired during a workplace dispute in Harlem on Thursday.

Camarena and witnesses said a building superintendent who had been replaced returned with a gun.

According to published reports, Camarena was sweeping the floor when the gunman appeared. He ordered Camarena and the new superintendent to get out, then fired the weapon.

Police were still searching for the unidentified suspect on Friday.
