Schneiderman Leads In A.G. Race Ahead Of Debate

ALBANY, NY (AP) - A new poll shows the Democrat running for attorney general in New York leading his Republican opponent as they head into their first debate Friday.

The Quinnipiac poll shows state Sen. Eric Schneiderman leading Staten Island District Attorney Dan Donovan 43 to 32 percent. But 24 percent of those surveyed are undecided and 39 percent who did select a candidate say they might change their minds by Election Day.

The survey of 1,141 likely voters was conducted Friday through Tuesday. It was released Friday and has a margin of error of 2.9 percentage points.

Donovan and Schneiderman are scheduled to debate for an hour starting at 2 p.m. Friday at the WABC studio in New York City. It can be watched live at 7online.com and will be broadcast on television Sunday at 11 a.m.
