B&C Show Blog & Audio: Live To Play Another Day

The Yankees and their fans may not have gotten the performance they expected from their 'hefty-lefty' CC Sabathia last night in the Bronx, but lucky for them his outing was good enough and the Bombers live to play another day.  Sabathia allowed 11 hits in six innings of work, but yielded just two runs and that combined with the Yanks bats waking up, resulted in a 7-2 win and a Game 6 match-up between Phil Hughes and Colby Lewis in Texas Friday night.  If the Yankees are to come back and win this series, they will have to beat Cliff Lee in a Game 7 at the Ballpark in Arlington and because of that, Craig says it would be one of the biggest postseason comebacks in the teams storied history, but we have a long way to go before we get to that point…

Both of Boomer's children are currently attending Boston College and 'coincidently' they has asked the Blonde Bomber to give a speech at the school, so he is having a special shirt made up for the occasion.  Jerry's children are too young for college and he doesn't have any special shirts in the works either, but what he did have was an update script written, so he read it and we were all better off having heard it…

The guys took a call from a gentleman from Brooklyn with the name Teri and he took issue with Craig when he pronounced his name wrong when introducing him on the air.  That led to Boomer telling us all about his birth name, Norman Julius and what it was like growing up with that handle…

Boomer asked Craig what would happen if the Knicks are somehow able to land Carmelo Anthony, who reportedly wants out of Denver and covets playing in the 'Big City'.  Craig allowed himself to dream a bit and predicted big things for Melo and the Knickerbockers…

JOHN FLAHERTY

John Flaherty was a journey man big leaguer, having played for five teams in his 14 year career.  During his playing days safe to say he was never considered a star, but his career after baseball is a different story.  These days Flaherty is an analyst for the YES Network and he is very good at his job, according to Boomer & Craig, one of the best in the business and I would have to agree.  So Al booked the above average analyst and he offered his thoughts on the ALCS between the Yankees and the Rangers…
