UConn: Suspended QB Endres Won't Be Back

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut coach Randy Edsall says quarterback Cody Endres will not play again for the University of Connecticut.

Endres was suspended Wednesday for the remainder of the season for an unspecified violation of university policies. Edsall said Thursday that Endres will not be welcomed back next year.

Several published reports said Endress had failed a drug test for a third time. The school would not confirm that.

The junior had already served a monthlong suspension in September for a violation of school rules.

Edsall said redshirt freshman Michael Box will start for the Huskies (3-3) on Saturday at Louisville. Senior Zach Frazer, who started the first four games of the season will be his backup.
