Closings Wrap Up In ABC Radio Reporter Slay Trial
NEW YORK (AP) -- Closing arguments have wrapped up in the trial of a New York City teenager accused of fatally stabbing a radio newsman he met through a Craigslist advertisement.
John Katehis is charged with killing 47-year-old George Weber in March 2009.
Defense lawyer Jeffrey Schwartz told jurors Monday that Weber lured the then-16-year-old Katehis to his apartment for alcohol and illegal sex.
The defense says Weber was stabbed during a struggle after he pulled out a knife.
The prosecution says the killing was intentional.
Jurors are scheduled to begin deliberating Tuesday.
Weber had been working as a freelancer for ABC News Radio. He also had worked at stations in New York, California, Colorado and Pennsylvania.
