Ex-Jet Green's Long, Strange Road Trip To Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Packers nose tackle Howard Green has finally made it to Green Bay.

Green was cut by the New York Jets on Tuesday and began driving that afternoon toward his home near Baton Rouge, La. He stopped only for food and gas, driving for about 20 straight hours. When he was 30 minutes from his house, the Packers called and asked him to join them.

He caught an evening flight from New Orleans to Atlanta, but weather delays forced him to spend the night in the airport. He also was delayed several hours Thursday morning before arriving in Green Bay after practice.

And now he's going back to New York: The Packers play the Jets on Sunday.
