NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Lots of fund-raising parties are taking place around the metro area this fall to benefit animal rescue, and in her latest edition of All For Animals, 1010 WINS News Anchor Susan Richard checked some of them out!
The Forum Bar in Manhattan’s East Village held a special happy hour to benefit the Humane Society of the United States Pets for Life NYC program. Unfortunately, in these tough economic times, many people have been forced to surrender their pets to municipal shelters because they can’t afford to take care of them. PFLNYC provides free and low cost veterinary care, boarding, legal assistance and other services to help those in financial need keep their pets. The program is run by the Humane Society of the United States in partnership with Animal Care & Control of New York City.READ MORE: Gov. And on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Erika Friedman of Canine Celebration hosted a “Hound-O-Ween” party at PETCO to benefit Rescuzilla, which specializes in rescuing ‘bully-breed’ dogs, which, due to over breeding, make up the majority of dogs that end up in kill-shelters in the Metro area.
