Openings Due In Vote Fraud Trial Of AC Councilman
MAYS LANDING, N.J. (AP) -- Jurors have been seated and opening statements are expected this afternoon in the election fraud trial of Atlantic City Councilman Marty Small.
Small is one of a dozen defendants accused of trying to swing the June 2009 Democratic mayoral primary through the use of fraudulent absentee ballots.
He has denied any wrongdoing.
Small lost the election to incumbent Mayor Lorenzo Langford.
Small was indicted on similar charges in 2005, but was acquitted at trial.
