1. Cam Newton, QB, Auburn: (1,890 pass yards - 19 TD's - 5 INT's - 1,146 rush yards - 15 TD's) – Newton did nothing to hurt his stock on the field against Chatanooga. Now, off the field is a different story. We've heard about possible shady recruiting dealings, and now the story has come out about him cheating on tests during his time at Florida. By all accounts Newton has grown and matured tremendously as a person, but the bottom line is these allegations may end up costing him the Heisman. We live in a guilty until proven innocent world, and at least a few voters are sure to penalize Newton. As far as his on the field play goes, he's been the most impressive player in the country and is more than worthy of winning the Heisman. Stay tuned... This week: Georgia

2. LaMichael James, RB, Oregon: (1,331 rush yards - 18 total TD's) – It was another impressive day at the office for James who tore apart Washington's defense to the tune of 121 yards and 3 touchdowns. He's proven he can put up big numbers against just about anybody. With only a few weeks to go the Heisman is well within reach for James… This week: @ California

3. Kellen Moore, QB, Boise State: (2,372 pass yards - 21 TD's - 4 INT's) – Moore put up career high numbers against Hawaii on Saturday. As I've been saying all year he doesn't face the best of competition, but talent is talent – and he's got a lot of it. His last big regular season test will come in a few weeks at Nevada… This week: @ Idaho

4. Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford: (2,213 pass yards - 25 TD's - 6 INT's) – Luck keeps getting better and better week by week. Things could be a lot different for him if Stanford didn't get trounced by Oregon a few weeks back. He remains the best NFL quarterbacking prospect in the country and has an outside shot at the Heisman… This week: @ Arizona State

5. John Clay, RB, Wisconsin: (929 rush yards - 13 TD's) – Clay was dinged up and limited in Wisconsin's easy win over Purdue. His numbers may not poke your eyes out, but anybody who's seen Clay in action knows just how valuable he is to the Badgers. However, with a soft schedule coming up he'll need just about a miracle to win the hardware… This week: Indiana

Outside Looking In…
