B&C Show Blog & Audio: Living The Charmed Life

Bobby Dwyer

The Jets and the Giants both entered the weekend boasting record of 6-2 and riding high.  Then the Jets went to Cleveland and for the second straight week won an overtime game on the road, beating Eric Mangini and the Browns by a score of 26-20.  With the win and the fashion they did it, the Jets became the first team ever to win back-to-back overtime games on the road.  The Giants on the other hand, they stayed home and welcomed in the 1-7 Dallas Cowboys to the New Meadowlands and then proceeded to lay an egg and lose to their division foe 33-20.  So with all of that said, Boomer said the Jets are living a bit of a charmed life thus far and Craigie declared Rex Ryan and the Jets as the new 'Kings of NY'…

To say Jon Kitna played a great game yesterday against the Giants would be an understatement.  The journeyman quarterback completed 13 of 22 passes for 327 yards and 3 TD's, carving up the Giants secondary and leading his team to an unlikely win at the New Meadowlands.  Craig certainly thought a win for the Cowboys was unlikely, as he selected the Giants for his 'Suicide Pool' and therefore is out $100,000, give or take a few dollars.  Jerry got us updated on everything that happened in the NFL yesterday and we also heard a little about the adventurous weekend Al 'Hughes' had 'entertaining' a couple of lady friends…

After last night's loss to the Rockets at the Garden, the Knicks have a record of 3-7 and their new star Amar'e Stoudemire is starting to show his frustration, as following the game he vented about the losing and his teammates lack of urgency.  Craig blames the Knicks lack of success on the coaching of Mike D'Antoni and calls for him to be replaced by Patrick Ewing.  Then we heard Lupus and Dominique give their rendition of the 50 yard, game winning TD pass from David Garrard that led his Jaguars team to an improbable victory over the Texans…

After hearing Lupus and Dominique try their hand in the play-by-play game, Eddie and Al got to work.  Eddie's rendition was a spirited call, during which he questioned the existence of God.  Meanwhile, once Al grasped the proper pronunciation of Garrard's (guh-RARD) name, he went into a profanity laced tirade describing the action…

With the Jets sporting a 7-2 record, Craig was feeling pretty good about himself this morning.  He is so confident that the Jets as an organization have turned over a new leaf that he wants to have a funeral burying those 'Same Old Jets', so he asked Al to get the Governor of New York, David Paterson, on the horn to talk about where the best place for the burial would be.  Governor Paterson joined the guys just before 9 o'clock and he talked about the surging Jets and his time in office…
