Starbucks-Bombing Teen Gets Prison Time

NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- The teenager convicted in the bombing of a Starbucks coffee shop on the Upper East Side will spend the next 3.5 years in prison.

Kyle Shaw, 19, filled a bottle with powder from fireworks then set it off in front of the store at Third Avenue and 92nd Street on Memorial Day in 2009.

Investigators believe he was trying to imitate the Brad Pitt character from the movie "Fight Club," who launched attacks on symbols of corporate America.

At his sentencing Tuesday, Shaw's lawyer called him a troubled youth.
