Conn. Fish Shoppers To See Health Warning In Supermarkets
NEW YORK, N.Y. (WCBS 880) – Shoppers in Connecticut will soon notice little heart-shaped signs next to fish at the supermarket, WCBS 880's Fran Schneidau reports.
The heart will indicate which fish are the healthiest for everybody to eat.

But there are still some species of fish that should be avoided, Connecticut Food Association's Stan Sorkin said.
"Women of childbearing age, children, and pregnant women should avoid swordfish, shark, striped bass, tilefish and king mackerel," Sorkin said.
Those species poses high health risks, he said.
"Those species are high in mercury and PCB's, which can pose a health risk," Sorkin said.
But Sorkin said consumers should help themselves to fish such as wild salmon, trout, and flounder, all of them fine health choices.
