NEW YORK (AP) — An actor reportedly said he felt like the character Neo from the movie “The Matrix” — “hearing voices and feeling powerful” — before he allegedly hacked his mother to death with a sword in her New York apartment.

Michael Brea, in an interview with the Daily News published Friday, reportedly said he killed what he calls “the demon inside her.”

He’s being held in a hospital psychiatric ward on murder and other charges.

His relatives issued a statement Friday calling him a “compassionate, gentle, intelligent, spiritual and loving man” who was “not well” before Yanick Brea’s death Tuesday.

The 31-year-old Brea reportedly said her death was “the work of God.” She was 55.

Michael Brea had small roles in ABC’s now-canceled show “Ugly Betty” and the movie “Step Up 3D.”

Looking at other news reports, it’s incredibly clear that this was schizophrenia. Religion was pretty much an excuse. I’m no fan of religion, but if this person wasn’t religious, they’d have made some other claim. It’s a neurological thing.

    You reap what you sow.
or in this case, what you spawn.

Raise them stupid and religious, and hopefully your whole stinking brood gets killed off too. Before they kill a human.

My mother did some terrible things to my father, ugly things and yes after a while I had to forgive her because she was my mother. A mother is something you come out of. I wasted a chance for a green card and a stay in AZ but for the last six months of a life my mah had a smile on her face. She was a cunning and she broke my father’s heart but she was my mother.
For me this guy is good for life without parole.
