Have You Swapped Cookies?

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - Cookie swaps are a festive way to get everyone together and have a wide variety of cookies - without having to bake them all yourself!

You bake a dozen of one kind of cookie and everybody else makes a dozen of a different kind.

This year is WCBS 880 midday anchor Pat Farnack's first cookie swap, organized by her sister-in-law, Donna Severino.

What is she making this year?

"I'm making a cranberry pistachio cookie with rolled sugar edges and something different. Last year, I made biscottis dipped in chocolate. So, this year, I chose to do the cranberry pistachio cookie," Donna said.

If you are having a cookie swap this year, or you're curious about them, author Lauren Chattman wrote the book "Cookie Swap."

She's teamed up with McCormick spices.

"McCormick has put together a virtual cookie swap on their Facebook page and tonight, I'll be hosting a live webcast on that page where I'll be demonstrating these recipes. Since it's live, I'm going to be able to take some questions from people who are watching, about cookie swaps, about baking," says Lauren.
