Lisa Turkki is facing two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault, and two counts of possession of a weapon.

She is accused of stabbing her nieces, who were nine-years-old and seven-years-old at the time, in the kitchen of their Bedford home while their parents attended a concert nearby.

Court papers detail the confession Turkki made to police, allegedly saying she had driven to her sister's home in New York to kill her family and stabbed her two nieces in the kitchen.

She also said she felt sorry for what she did to her sister.

Turkki told police, "I am schizo-affective and may have missed some medications."

Turkki is being held at the Westchester County Jail.
