New Conn. Governor Seeks Heads Of 4 Key Agencies

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Connecticut's incoming governor says he wants to search nationwide for the next leaders of four key state departments.

Governor-Elect Dan Malloy said he's also asking federal officials to help identify good candidates for the state departments of transportation, education, social services and environmental protection.

Malloy says he doesn't want to rush any selections, and that current commissioners of state agencies will be considered for reappointment if they apply.

Malloy takes office Jan. 5 as Connecticut's first Democratic governor since William O'Neill left office in 1991.
