Lawyer: Manhattanville Murder Mom Plans To Plead Guilty

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) -- A lawyer says a woman accused of killing her daughter on the Manhattanville College  campus plans to plead guilty.

The Journal News says Legal Aid Society attorney Allan Focarile stated the intentions of defendant Stacey Pagli during a White Plains court appearance Wednesday. He did not say what charge was being considered.

Marissa Pagli was killed in her family's apartment at Manhattanville on Feb. 22.

According to police documents, Pagli said she strangled her daughter because the 18-year-old was disrespectful. Authorities say Pagli attempted suicide after her daughter died.

Pagli is due back in court on Jan. 11.

Marissa Pagli was a freshman at the school. Her father, a maintenance supervisor there, found her body.
