As the shopping season heads into the final stretch other stores, including Macy's, announced plans to keep their stores open for 24 hours through 10 p.m. Christmas Eve.

For the first time, nearly all Toys 'R' Us stores across the nation opened their doors at 6 a.m. Tuesday for the shopping spree – the only exceptions to the extended hours include stores where local ordinances and other factors ban all-hours operations.

"It's crazy but I have to do it, it's for my niece, I can't disappoint her," John, from New Rochelle, said.

One man told 1010 WINS' John Montone that he woke up early and drove 40 minutes from Queens to the Bay Plaza location because his daughter wants a doll that the store has in stock.

"I gotta do it for the kids, gotta do it for the little girl," he said.

Along with extended hours, Toys 'R' US will offer "Midnight Madness" deals daily from midnight to 6 a.m.
