WCBS 880's Catherine Cioffi reports

Who would have thought one little song could cause so many problems?

Well, Armonk claimed to be the birthplace of "Frosty the Snowman". The City of White Plains is now saying nope.

Songwriter Steve Nelson actually lived in North Castle, regardless of what town or city was in his mind when he wrote the song.

North Castle Councilwoman and lifelong North Castle resident Rebecca Kittredge says this is not what Frosty is all about.

"This was just [supposed to be] a way to bring everybody together." she told WCBS 880 reporter Catherine Cioffi.

She says they did the research and got the rights.

"To me, it's frustrating that this has become a big issue," she says.

When asked what she thought Frosty would say about all this squabbling, her answer was: "Bah humbug."
