NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Thousands of Brooklyn subway riders were facing a longer commute Monday.

The MTA was about to begin the latest phase of the "Culver Viaduct Rehabilitation Project."

Beginning at 5 a.m., Manhattan-bound F service or Queens-bound G service at the 15th Street station and the Fort Hamilton Parkway station was scheduled to be suspended.

At the Smith-9th Street station, Manhattan-bound F service was to be canceled as well.

The disruptions will be in effect through May.
