Jersey City Deputy Police Chief Peter Nalbach said 35-year-old Tasheba Finley remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition after she was stabbed 14 times with a hunting knife.

Finley's 16-year-old daughter teenager was stabbed multiple times and as she was bleeding profusely, ran to a neighbor and told him to call police, before running outside and collapsing in front of the 3-story home in the city's Greenville section where the family lived, Nalbach said.

The teen is listed in extremely critical condition with multiple stab wounds.

Finley's three younger children, ages 10, 8 and 6, are also hospitalized with stab wounds.

Police told 1010 WINS' Juliet Papa that Finley and her husband were arguing in bed accusing each other of infidelity when he got up and said he was going to take a shower but instead came back into the room with a knife.

"She thought he was going to bend over, give her a kiss and leave when he started slashing her," Deputy Chief Peter Nalbach said.

Police arrested 41-year-old Jai Finley, who is the father of the youngest child, Tuesday night after they said he fled the first floor apartment on Rutgers Avenue, crashed his vehicle into a  PSE&G substation and tried climbing a transformer to electrocute himself.

He faces charges ranging from aggravated assault to resisting arrest and could face additional counts. Bail has been set at $1 million.
