Report: LIRR Readying Snow Storm Schedule

NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- The Long Island Rail Road hoped to be better prepared for winter weather and was reportedly coming out with a special schedule just for snow storms.

The railroad was working on a timetable that would take effect only in emergencies, like when service was completely suspended during last month's blizzard.

Newsday said the schedule would give commuters a more realistic idea of how quickly service would return and on which lines.

The LIRR said priority would be given to the four busiest lines: Babylon, Huntington, Port Washington and Ronkonkoma.
