Prospect Park's Giant Rabbit Is A Hip-Hop Star

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The latest rap sensation in hopping straight outta Brooklyn.

The Prospect Park Zoo has used the Chinese New Year - the year of the rabbit - to re-introduce New Yorkers to Herbie, a Flemish giant rabbit. Weighing in at around 20 pounds, Prospect Park Zoo Instructor Kate Anderson calls Herbie the "Great Dane" of domestic rabbit breeds.

While New York City has previously produced its share of heavyweight rap stars (Notorious B.I.G. and Fat Joe come to mind), none of them are quite like Herbie.

You can check Herbie out at the Prospect Park Zoo's theater Saturday and Sundays at 12:30, 1:00, 2:30 or 3:00.

Just make sure you stay away from the piranhas.
