WCBS 880's Levon Putney reports

It happened two weeks ago.

Investigators say the Maryland teen played an online video game against a Berkeley Heights student, found a way to steal the student's user ID and password, and then used the profile to send a message to almost 100 people.

The actual New Jersey student denied doing it, and investigators say they tracked it to the Maryland teen.

The prosecutor says it was a prank, but says several concerned parents called police after seeing the message.
