Hazell Scores 2,000th Career Point In Win Over Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Jeremy Hazell scored 19 points and became the fourth player in Seton Hall history to score 2,000 points in leading the Pirates to a 69-64 victory over turnover-plagued Rutgers on Saturday night.

Jordan Theodore added seven of his 18 points with the game on the line as the Pirates (11-14, 5-8 Big East) avenged a loss last month to their New Jersey rivals. Herb Pope added 12 points for Seton Hall, which shot 50 percent from the field.

Jonathan Mitchell, who hit a last-second, game-winning four-point play in Rutgers' upset of No. 9 Villanova earlier this week, had 22 of his game-high 24 points in the second half. Gilvydas Biruta added 18 for the Scarlet Knights (13-12, 4-9), who had 18 turnovers.
