B&C Show Blog & Audio: Talking Knicks And NFL Labor Problems

Bobby Dwyer

The Knicks' 'process' continues as they fell in Orlando last night to Dwight Howard and the Magic, 116-110.  Howard was a beast early on, but it was a combination of Jameer Nelson and Ryan Anderson that did the Knicks in down the stretch and on top of the loss, Chauncey Billups was forced to leave the game early after taking a knee to the thigh from Howard.  Craig is not worried though, he is still just thankful that the Knicks are giving us something to talk about and he expects a few bumps in the road along the way.  Boomer & Craig will be on hand tonight, when the Knicks will be back home in the Garden welcoming in Chris Paul and the New Orleans Hornets.  As far as the NFL goes, the leagues collective bargaining agreement expires tomorrow night (3/4) and the two sides appear to be worlds apart.  Boomer reflected on his stint as a player representative back in 1987, when the players union went on strike and he and Craig discussed how the two sides might go about figuring out to share close to $9 billion.  Booms didn't get too worked up though as he was feelin' pretty good this morning, rockin' his red suede Puma's and he is pretty confident the two sides will reach an agreement before any games are lost…

Jerry began his update talking about the Knicks coming up short in Orlando last night then it was onto the NFL, but not the labor talk mess, instead Jerry brought up the line of questioning at the NFL combine, which involved a table and chair among other things.  Then we heard about Cincinnati Bengals (Who Dey!!!) quarterback Carson Palmer reportedly saying (through a confidant) that he would never play another game for the Bengals, preferring rather to retire.  Craig was all over Palmer but Boomer, having played in 10 of his 14 years in Cincy, said he can certainly understand where the 8-year NFL vet is coming from…

Charlie Sheen is due in court today to battle for custody of his twin boys, which is a story that is certain to raises an eyebrow or two, considering Sheen's behavior lately.  Then the boys made a seamless transition to a story that involved a psychologist who conducts her appointments with clients on-line in the nude.  Craig was baffled by this story on so many levels.  First of all he is uncomfortable with the whole telling your problems to a stranger thing, then he said he couldn't have a doctor of any sort that he finds attractive, but it didn't stop there.  Craigie went on to explain how he cannot have a real friendship with any woman because of the sexual tension (and he called Sheen delusional - just sayin')…

With the both sides fighting for leverage in the NFL collective bargaining agreement talks, Craig feels like the 'average guy', who makes-up a good majority of the fan base, is not being considered here as the millionaires try to figure out how to share billions of dollars, so he decided to take to the microphone and do something about it…

On today's edition of the wildly popular trivia contest, 'Do You Know More Sports Than…' we had a lawyer from Long Island by the name of Candice join the guys in-studio for a sports knowledge interrogation of sorts.  She was teamed up with Boomer and was up against Tony and his partner Craig.  It appeared Candice did her homework as she came oh so close to a perfect score…

The guys took a call from Johnnie and he wanted to talk about the possibility of the Super Bowl becoming a pay-per-view event sometime down the road.  Now this is not a likely scenario but Craigie has a plan in place just in case it does and it involves a $5 cover charge to watch the game at his house.  Somewhere Michael Kay is smiling…

Before Jerry could get to his highly anticipated Moment of the Day Craig decided to reflect a bit on being raised in the '70's while Boomer and Jerry sang along to the Beatles 1965 hit 'Yesterday'.  Then we heard all about Cameron Diaz's porn fascination and finally Jerry's Moment…
