NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Chris Brown may need some anger management after the singer reportedly threw a fit in his dressing room following an appearance on "Good Morning America" Tuesday.

The 22-year-old singer apparently flipped out after host Robin Roberts persistently asked him about former girlfriend Rihanna, the trouble they had and whether he'd seen her since a restraining order against him was lifted last month.

The singer tried, unsuccessfully, to steer the focus of the interview back to his new ablum "F.A.M.E."

"I think I'm past that in my life," he said. "Today is the album day, that's what I'm focusing on."

"This album is what I want people to really get into, definitely this album is what I want them to talk about and that other stuff that happened two years ago," Brown insisted after Roberts asked him how he was able to put the Rihanna incident behind him.

Once backstage, Brown reportedly screamed, smashed a window and ripped off his shirt before storming out of the building.

The Associated Press reports security was called but the police weren't.

Following the alleged incident, Brown posted a message on Twitter saying, "All my fans!!! This album is for you and only you!!! I'm so tired of everyone else!! Honestly!! I love team breezy!!"

He followed up by saying, "Thank you to everyone who supports my music!!! Key Word ( music) !!! Love y'all."

ABC News issued a statement saying," As always, we asked questions that are relevant and newsworthy."

Brown had performed his latest hit "Yeah 3X" but left the studio without doing a second performance for the ABC website.

Later Tuesday morning, workers were seen replacing the broken window at the Times Square studio.

Brown was sentenced to five years probation and 180 days of community labor after pleading guilty to assaulting Rihanna.

He is scheduled to perform on the elimination round of "Dancing With The Stars" next week.
