One Month Out, NYC Is Abuzz With Royal Wedding Fever

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Since the November announcement of the Royal engagement, the world has been buzzing with anticipation of the upcoming marriage of Prince William to Kate Middleton on April 29th.

Now that the nuptials are one month away, Royal envy is in full force here in New York City.

There are several events planned in the Big Apple to mark the celebration, including a VIP, invite-only dining event at New York's British Embassy and a fundraiser held by St. George's Society of New York to feature dinner and dancing at Times Square's Edison Ballroom.

But if you're a Royal Wedding enthusiast, your best bet might be the Royal Wedding NYC '11 Celebration Party, a function hosted by Big Apple Brits, a networking group for Brits living in New York City.

But this event means business. Tickets to the party, to be held at Brooklyn's DUMBO Loft, will set you back about $50 and include an open bar starting at 5 a.m. Watch the live wedding broadcast on a big screen at the archway under the Manhattan bridge, where it will be replayed again in the afternoon.

If you're a die-hard fan looking to travel across the pond to catch the action, WCBS 880's Peter Greenberg did his research to nail down your best travel options.

His cheapest find is the Athenauem London, which is located on the other side of the park from Buckingham Palace and has rooms for about $600 a night. From there, hotel guests will be able to watch the processional.

Milestone Hotel is offering a four-night package for several thousands of dollars that includes accommodations, a seven-course meal and even a commemorative Royal Wedding plate.
