B&C Morning Show: Dave Winfield And American Hero Rocky Sickmann

Dave Winfield played 23 years in the Big Leagues, 10 of them for the Yankees. Just like everyone else around these parts, he is fired up for Opening Day.

These days Winfield is Executive VP/Senior Advisor for the San Diego Padres, but he still keeps tabs on the Yanks, which is why he was in town and able to join Boomer & Craig in-studio this morning.  Winfield talked about his Hall of Fame career, making amends with the late George Steinbrenner prior to his passing, his relationship Yankees captain Derek Jeter, the 'steroid era' of baseball, his game winning hit in Game 6 of the 1992 World Series, among other things.

The guys had so much to talk to Winfield about they kept him for close to 45 minutes...

Winfield was here today on behalf of Budweiser and joining him was a man, check that, an American hero by the name of Rocky Sickmann.

Mr. Sickmann is the Director of Military Sales for Anheuser Busch and is also one of 52 US citizens held hostage for 444 days (November 4th, 1979 to January 20th, 1981) in Tehran, Iran (Iran Hostage Crisis) when he was a member of the USMC.  He joined the guys to tell his fascinating story, which quickly put everything into perspective...
