"I guess it still hits home pretty hard for most people. I lost a few friends there, so [when] I see it going up, I feel like it's something of a victory for us," said one man.

Whether you're in Brooklyn, Staten Island, or New Jersey, it's becoming clear that the new One World Trade Center is staking its claim to the Lower Manhattan skyline.

"It's about time," said one man.

Another man said, "I think it's phenomenal. I mean I've been watching it everyday from my office window."

"We've been waiting for something... to see something come up and really outshine the rest of the skyline. I've been waiting for it for a long time. It's a good sight," said yet another man.

The building is now at 60 stories on its way to 104, and 1,776 feet.
