Smithtown Woman Arrested For DWI With Son, 10, In Car

SMITHTOWN, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Smithtown woman has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with her 10-year-old son in the car.

Suffolk County police say they stopped Brenda Lally, 44, on Fifty Acre Road South in Smithtown around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday after getting a tip from a 911 call.

She was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child, a felony under Leandra's Law, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Lally will be arraigned Thursday.
