NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A woman was killed and seven people were injured Thursday afternoon after a livery cab jumped a curb and careened through a storefront window in The Bronx.

The crash occurred shortly before 3 p.m. when the cab lost control at the intersection of Bainbridge Avenue and East Fordham Road in Fordham, and crashed through the window of the Cee and Cee Department Store located on the corner, according to authorities.

The 61-year-old victim was pinned under the vehicle and rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

"We believe the woman who was killed was actually outside the store and was pushed into the store by the car," FDNY Batallion Chief George Campbell told CBS 2.

Six others -- including the livery cab driver, another customer and a store employee -- suffered non life-threatening injuries.
