Rex Ryan Emails Players; Jets Trickle Into Facility

NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) -- Welcome back, Jets?

The NFL cleared the way for some basic football operations to begin at 8 a.m. EDT Friday, four days after a federal judge declared the lockout illegal and nearly seven weeks after it began.

Just three Jets players — wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery, guard Brandon Moore and linebacker David Harris — were at the team's facility as of late Friday morning.

"I was just glad to be in the building again," Cotchery said. "I was able to come into the building and I'm able to rehab and everything, so I'm embracing this moment right now."

Meanwhile, the Jets' offseason program is just a weekend away.

The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta got his hands on the following email from head coach Rex Ryan to his players, sent Thursday night:

"Men, I'm glad to announce the New York Jets voluntary offseason program will begin Monday, May 2. For anyone planning to attend, please be in the auditorium at 8 am for a brief presentation and an overview of the entire program," Ryan wrote, according to the paper. "We look forward to seeing you Monday."

"Just got the email from Rex...we in there monday," tweeted Jets defensive tackle Carlton Powell.

Players also started trickling in for the Giants. Big Blue receiver Devin Thomas flew in from Michigan on Thursday night so that he could be sure to get in a workout and talk to his coaches. His only problem? The tubs weren't filled up.

"I was geeked; I had to get back," he said.
