One veteran said he has been hit hard financially the past few months.

"I'm looking for housing and maybe some clothing, something to help out," he said.

Organizer Frank Diaversa said there are many services available, including helping to get the homeless veterans off the streets, along with health services and food.

"There's over 40 agencies here today. There's a variety... Social Security, the VA - Veterans Administration," he told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall.

He said he has spoken to a lot of men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

"A lot of them suffer from P.T.S.D. - post traumatic stress disorder - and they need to go to the VA medical center to get help," he said.
