4 Women Stabbed In Jersey City Street Brawl

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Four women -- including pregnant twin sisters -- were stabbed early Sunday during a street brawl with another woman in Jersey City.

Two of the victims -- ages 23 and 24 -- were stabbed in the left arm, while the 22-year-old twins sustained undisclosed wounds. All four were taken to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment, but authorities say none of the wounds were considered life-threatening,

The alleged assailant, 21-year-old Shantel L. McMullen of Jersey City, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a weapons offense. Police say she was armed with a long-bladed knife that she tried to discard when officers arrived on scene just before 1 a.m.

McMullen was treated for a minor laceration.

It was not immediately clear what started the brawl.
