10th Annual Free Comic Book Day Celebrations Hit NYC Saturday

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Comic book lovers, unite!

Saturday is the 10th annual Free Comic Book Day, an event during which comic book shops across the world give away comic books specifically printed for the occasion.

Traditionally held on the first Saturday in May, the event will be celebrated across all five boroughs in New York City.

Jim Hanley's Universe, a comic book lovers haven on 33rd Street, will not only be giving away the goods, but hosting meet and greets with comic book creators and writers like Dan Slott, the man behind The Amazing Spider-Man.

The Bronx Museum of the Arts will host the third annual Bronx Heroes Comic Convention, featuring panels art workshops, meet and greets – and of course, free stuff.

Michael Buckley of N.E.R.D.S, along with several other big names, will be at Brooklyn Comics & More beginning at 10 a.m.
