Thousands Expected At Jones Beach Air Show Memorial Day Weekend

WANTAGH, NY (WCBS 880) -- Beachgoers will look up at the sky this holiday weekend for the annual Jones Beach air show.

Hundreds of thousands of spectators are expected for the 8th Annual Bethpage Federal Credit Union Air Show, where the young and young-at-heart will be pointing and stretching their necks to see Navy aircraft pilots flying high in the sky.

"We fly old WWII aircrafts," said pilot Ken Johansen. "We do formations and thrill the crowd with tactics."

A couple big attractions spectators won't see this year are the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds because of scheduling conflicts.
