Spectators Flock To Jones Beach For 8th Annual Air Show

JONES BEACH, NY (WCBS 880) -- Nearly 400,000 people are expected to attended the air show over the weekend at Jones Beach, which kicked off Memorial Day weekend festivities on Saturday.

There were children on their father's shoulders pretending to be airplanes and adults screaming, jumping up and down as they watched the F-18 Super Hornet, the Golden Knights parachute team and the bomber planes.

At the 8th Annual Bethpage Federal Credit Union Air Show at Jones Beach, spectators say it's an adrenaline rush.

"I told about a 100 people to come out here because I'm 34 and this is one of the most amazing things I have seen in my lifetime," said one woman. "I really enjoy it."

The shows are from 10am to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday and also feature A-10 Warthogs and the only B-29 Superfortress still flying.
