Court Date Set For N.J. Woman Accused Of Starving Daughter To Death
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A mother accused of starving an 8-year-old girl to death is due in court this week.
Vendette Ovilde is charged with aggravated manslaughter and child endangerment.
Daughter Christiana Glenn died May 22. The same day, the girl's 7-year-old sister and 6-year-old brother were removed from her home and hospitalized. Witnesses say they were also badly malnourished.
The 30-year-old Ovilde's is due to make first court appearance in the case on Wednesday.
Her roommate, 23-year-old Myriam Janvier, is also due in court that day on child endangerment charges.
